Dang M&M, I'm honored. I didn't see your message before tonight and I don't know what to say. I appreciate your kind words very much. You guys in AZ have been good to me and I appreciate all of your support.Well I will support you on choosing a Rock Krawler lift. For your use, the 2.5 would probably be totally sufficient especially with a 2-door running 35's. Even down the road you can run 37's with flat fenders and some trimming. This would keep your COG lower which once you get out climbing off camber obstacles you will be glad you did. Just get the best you can afford up front. If you stick to the 2.5 get the X Factor system and be done with it. You will be happy about getting one of the nicer riding lifts out there for both on road and off road.
What I would highly recommend to you is to get on the phone with Marcus from River City Offroad here and pick his brain about the RK lifts. Not only does he have tons of experience with them personally, he also gets you some of the best prices you will find anywhere.
My 2 cents (might be more like 7 cents by the time done here) on shocks would be to give the Rancho RS9000XL's a shot. I have been running mine for about 10 months now and the longer I have them the more I like them. I went from Bilstein 5100's to them and couldn't be happier. Basically the same price as the Bilsteins. I'm so happy with them that I'm probably going to go with the RS9000XL Pro Series at least in the rear to flip the adjustment knob up top since you can't run the standard 9's upside down. Either the Pro 9's or Walker Evans, just depends on how much I want to spend down the road.
I'm not gonna bad mouth Rancho. They have products made for everyone's price range and some stuff holds up better than others. I won't be using their lifts but I'm thrilled with the shocks I have. I also have a good buddy who runs a super cheap Rough Country 3.5" lift that rides like a damn Caddy offroad and sort of makes me sick that it was so cheap. He wheels the shit out of it and it has held up as good as anything else out there. Some people just have all the luck. If I got one it would fall apart on me in a week, just seems to be the way it works for guys like me...lol.
Anyway, give Marcus a call. He's a great guy and you won't find a more honest person to deal with. He goes above and beyond for every single customer he works with. Truly amazing, you will not be disappointed that you did. Good luck on making such a difficult decision. Everyone on here will do whatever they can to help out in their own way so your in the right place, just take your time, wheel your rig as much as you can to get familiar with it and get a better understanding of what you really want to end up doing with it long term.
Jason - Again, I'm honored brother! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your build and for letting me offer my advice and guidance. It was a pleasure doing business with you and I'm a phone call away if you have anything you need help with!Just a follow up for all those who chimed in on this thread -
I ordered my 2.5 max travel with marcus' help. By far BEST customer service with every part of the order. already made a second purchase through him for spring retaining clips. I got the shocks within the same week, and i got the lift approximately 16 days from day of order.
I also ordered front and rear adams driveshafts for a 3 inch lift (i told them 2.5 inch kit but was told i would get more , they said they understood and would take care of it)
All will be going in on sunday. Im excited ! THANKS EVERYONE!
Thank you for your business and support!
Marcus
