If you disconnect off-road, you will rub. If you want to disconnect, you will need to increase your bump stops, cut your stock flares, or go to a flat fender.
I run a 305/65R17 BFG MT mounted on a 17x9 rim with 4.5" of backspacing.
I rub when I disconnect, pretty bad. I do have a leveling kit, but running factory flares and bumpstops.
