My new-used tranny likes to jumps out of 1st while riding the clutch (true 37's with 3.21s) although 5.13s are to be installed Monday... prior to that I am wondering if a 5.13 geared 3.8L/6spd on 37''s be cool for taking of in 2nd on flat ground?

I ask because my fiance (official wedding next week) refuses to drive it while it has the 1st gear jumpout- though I am sure it will be better with 5.13s. If not, will there be enough gear to skip 1st in traffic?

A second gear start is pretty rough on the clutch with that setup. I am running that currently

I have been starting out in 2nd gear every start for the last year. Although i have 35s and 5.13s. It is not that rough on the clutch at all really, and if it is, fuck it, in not dealing with have a 1 sec first gear and rowing like a sailor everytine i drive

there was a recall on it jumping out of gear. My trans had to be worked on because of the same thing. It did it since it was pretty much new.

...this trans came from another '07 with 40k less - and softer- miles. It stays if I hold it, though my old habit was to let my hand rest on the shifter.

going to the 5.13's all but eliminated the 1st gear kick-out, unless on a STEEP incline... or rock.
