The automatic 42rle transmission behind the 3.8 is common to a lot of applications. I think you can even put the transmission behind some Mazda engines also. I would just search engine adapters with that engine and transmission, I bet you will find something that will work.Hi guys.
No, I'm not doing this to my JK, but have just done the inlet manifold gasket and had a brainwave.
The 3.8 is so narrow that it would be a great repower option for my Maxda 1500SS or a little hot rod.
But it would need a gearbox to be north/south for a RWD car.
I'm in Australia, so we never got the 2WD JK. So all I can get is the 4WD gearbox.
Anyone know what's needed to change the 4WD unit to 2WD?
