"The Jeep Wrangler, descendant of the legendary Army Jeeps and Willys/Kaiser/AMC CJ series, will keep its solid axles after all."

"Earlier today, Automotive News’ Larry Vellequette wrote about Jeep Wrangler getting a lighter, smaller body. Aluminum construction alone would be unlikely to provide sufficient weight gains, according to industry long-timer Bob Sheaves, given the need to excel in new government and insurance industry safety tests."

Good lookin' concept.
One thing I don't get about goin' with aluminum body panels for weight savings, why don't they just go with plastic outer panels? There's enough production car models using this format with success.

Too much rim and too little tire but it sure looks ready to head to the mall. Also the side window openings in both concepts are completely bogus unless these are going to be pop-out or take-off windows like a soft top (all of the doors/rear sides are too short).

I cant think of a single model in the entire auto industry that has gotten smaller with successive models...
Mustang (74-77)

Impala

Jeep Renegade hahaha

Lots of them really.

I did see a new Civic yesterday and it's bigger than Accords were in the 80's.
