Just noticed this am our jeep won't go into gear and if it does it clunks and chatters ? 4x4 engages fine . I found the shifter cable problem online with other jk owners however this cable /grommet is still very much intact? What else could it be?

Bought it from a dealership a week ago and denied warranty if this is something big I'm going to let them have it at the dealership!

We're having a tow truck come to get it however it won't go into neutral or reverse and is parked in a precarious spot in our yard to be washed!

Thank for your help ahead of time!

Fluid is good to go . Clean as well.

I checked the cable for the 4x4 as well as the trans cable and both are intact and are not broken. I think it's something with the fourwheel drive not disengaging . The dash light turns on and off and while you move the shifter however I don't think it's disengaging properly ?

I had the same problem w/ my 2010 JKU Rubicon Automatic when new.

In the morning when the engine was not fully warm. It had the same issues as yours. The dealer did a TBS for a slow O2 sensor response that require reprograming the computer. It solve the problem.

Hope that helps you.

just heard from the repair facility that has the jeep and they said the jeep is not drivable and has grinding coming out of the transfer case and the transmission.
I called the dealership we bought it from two weeks ago and left a message and havent heard back yet...

Well we are pretty lucky, just found out we will be covered by the 5year 100,000 mile warranty it's being towed tômorow morning to a jeep dealership to have a new tranny/transfer case put in.

No one has diagnosed it yet because We needed to hear from the dealership we purchased it from

. At least we will be covered. Thank you JEEP
