Are you getting the CEL or the battery malfunction indicator? If the CEL is on, it's possible that you have a bad battery, but it could be a collection of other issues as well. The battery indicator light means that you have a charging issue and either the battery or alternator has failed. You can have your battery and charging system tested at Autozone or a similar parts store. When the charging issue has been rectified, the light will deactivate automatically.

If you still have the factory battery, I would just buy a new battery and be done.
