have a friend that wants to sell a 1986 jeep renegade. It has rust on both front quarters and floor pans need replaced. Good news it a auto that the wife can drive and it only has 53k miles. it has been siiting in a garage for 5yrs waiting to be restored. what would be a good price to offer?

Yes, I go also for 1,200. but you must look at first carefully to know if there are things that need to repair.
