Recommend me a GOOD 12v defroster.

My JK has horrible defrost capabilities. The driver side gets ice and snow buildup and then the wiper just drags it back across the windshield. My recent trip through this weeks canadian snowstorm was intolerable because of this. I had to keep reaching out to clear the ice and snow. :mad3:

Amazon had about 10 of em, but they all got 1 - 2 star reviews. One even caught on fire.

like I said in chit-chat on pirate. is something disconnected?
I agree.. When I turn my heater to the front windshield defrost position it blows hot air like crazy and easily keeps the windshield unfrozen.

you know mine does the same thing, it will keep frost from building up but any snow and the windsheild wipers just build up the snow on the drivers side and the defroster dosent blow the hot air over that far to melt it. what year is yours? i wonder if its a early production thing, i bought mine in oct/nov of 06

I could try this, but Since I am tall, that would REALLY obstruct the already limited filed of view! Mine was built feb 07.

A few others mentioned trouble on "the site that shall not be named". I know I posted the fawk outta this, but driving with my arm out the window pulling packed snow off the windshield is not really an option for the next 6 months!

Fold the sunvisor down to keep the hot air around the windsheild... Old CJ trick that works greak on the really snowy days up here.
