08 radiator fan

So I killed my stock fan motor today, and after searching for a bit I see this is a common issue being an open motor, I've been trying to find a different motor that would bolt in with the factory fan or a whole assembly to replace the stock fan, but key is a sealed fan motor so I don't run into this again. Not finding a whole lot on the web just a lot of factory replacements with OE parts, anyone else found anything worth while?

Also I don't have a mechanical fan, but it looks like there's a spot for one, should I have one or did jeep do away with them? Pic attached

I have a Spal fan now after burning thru two stock fans. You can convert to a mechanical fan. There is a write-up on it somewhere....

I forget which model but I got the one that came with the shroud etc. You can also go with just the spal fan without the shroud but you will need to massage the stock one a tad to attach.

I have MOPAR electric and mechanical fans in mine. All done with dealer parts. (Prices in picture are from 2012.)

Everything under the hood is quite a bit cooler: engine, transmission, electrical and electronic equipment, even intake air temperature.

I run this and can't say enough positive things about it , the fan ( 3-4times the stock cfm) ,the fit or the support from the company , Universal Parts International. My auto tranny stays around 140 F , my coolant stays under 190 F and it is waterproof.

I will admit that when variable temp voltage of stock harness switches more amperage to the fan to kick it into / on High , it could potentially suck apples off of trees , trying to pull them thru the front grill it's such an air draw from the big Spal . Also, it sounds like the Concord SST taking off on those brief moments it's on High ,but I don't care about noise as long as everything is cooled.

That maybe what @Fklein6768 is referencing above...

This looks like the one that Fortec 4x4 used to sell. It works very well and you can really hear it when it kicks into high.

That is just the fan. You will have to modify the fan shroud to make it fit.

Get the universal parts inc. one. It comes with the shroud as well, super easy install.

Damn it, you assholes got me to spend more money. I wasn't even thinking about replacing this, but this upgrade seems nice.

It is very nice. You can actually hear that the fan is working.

Not just an upgrade, but replace it before it breaks on the trail and you have to get towed out. First little bit of water/mud I ran into killed mine and made for a long rest of the day

Easier to fix it in the garage than on the trail

this. Wrong splash of mud or aqua- gets into the brilliantly perforated stock fan motor on the 'Trail Rated" , water fording capable Jeep and you're gonna have a fun time nursing it home . Replace with this and fergetaboutit... :jeep2:

So putting the fan in today, and looks like I have to lengthen the jeep side of the wiring to make it work? The made it so this sensor only mounts one way and it's backwards? Lol

Any thoughts before I start cutting factory wiring?

I'll check in a few but pretty sure I just cut/solder.
