I have read on here that they made a few changes to the latching mechanism on the 09. I thought I had read that the 09's will fit older years but Im not sure if older years will fit the 09's. Truth be known I bought the hardtop,safari element doors ,and the rubi wheels and tires before I even had a JK LOL 
Been so cold havent had a chance to try the top on....
