Rugged Ridge Hood Catches

Thanks to Matt at Neuwirth Motors Parts for the hook-up!!!

Not listed on the instructions, but you'll need:

1/2" wrench
5/8" wrench
10mm wrench
3/16 allen
5/23 allen
Beer

Here's a shot of the OEM next to the RR:

Removing the grill makes it much easier to get to the nut holding the lower latch on:

Remove the OEM latches using the 1/2" and 10mm wrenches:

Attach the RR upper and lower brackets using the 5/32 allen and 10mm wrench:

Attach the latch block using two 3/16 allens:

Adjust the latch block and tighten down the jam nuts. Sit back, crack the beer, and admire one of the few jobs that didn't require a blood sacrifice:

For me, I found it easier for the Passenger side lower bracket to remove the airbox rather than the grill.
Also, something to check out for...
On one of my latches, the stud had incomplete threads and stripped the aluminum threads on the upper latch. It became obvious when trying to tighten the lock nut. RR (via JeepHut) sent me a replacement very quickly.
Working great so far.
