Max Bilt JK Center Console

Again ...big thanks to Marcus for hooking me up!!!

The install was super easy. Removing the front seats is optional ...you don't need to, but it does make it easier to maneuver and move things around.

--Remove front seats ((optional))
--Remove the 4 factory bolts ~ 2 on each side of the OEM console
--Remove the transfer case shift knob
--Pull the base plate of the shift boot up
--Remove the small netting plate below the radio/AC
--Lift the OEM console high enough to disconnect the wiring for the back seat rear window controls
--Remove OEM center console
--Bolt the back seat cup holders on the Max Bilt console
--Place Max Bilt console
--Dissemble the OEM console so you can remove the back seat rear window controls and wiring
--Install the back seat rear window controls and wiring in the space provided
--Reconnect the back seat rear window controls and wiring
--Red or blue loctite the 4 factory bolts and use on the Max Bilt
--Reinstall the transfer case shift knob and shift boot base plate
--Test everything out
--Consume beer

PORN!!!!!

I really like how the arm rest is higher than stock. That thing (stock) is a tick too short to be of any use to me. Nice write up.

The site has pics of the inside.

Thanks all. After putting a few hundred miles on my Jeep over the last couple days, I have to say I love this console over the OEM one. The height, padding and size are perfect. Very comfortable. There's way more space inside. The lock is very solid.

I rigged up a temporary limiting strap till I figure out something permanent. I also want to try and figure out a way to add a small tray or something.

I haven't forgotten ...I'll post up some inside pics ...just been very busy at work.

with the console installed, about how much farther forward is the armrest? we all know the stock one was useless if you were under 5'-05" anyway. i put one of the center armrest pads on mine from Quadratec. i mounted it father forward than it was meant to be... its actually useful. wouldn't mind a cleaner alternative, though.

How water-resistant is it? That's honestly one of the only reasons I run outside at 4am to get my top up when it's raining. I like to be able to keep a couple key items in there, but it fills up with water like nobody's business

Hey E, did you hook up the 12 volt accessory inside the console? If so how did you wire it up?

Ok got mine in yesterday. Fucking awesome, hooked up the switches as well. They are the same size as the one that daystar sells for their switch panel.

Only problem I had was that I couldn't get the fucking console down around the parking brake. So off with the rear wheels to adjust the parking brake to nothing. It slipped right on no problem.

Drove it today and I am wondering why the brilliant fucking engineers at jeep continue to put a center console in that is only usable by a fucking circus midget. This thing is the perfect height.

Now I just need max bilt to send me the rear cupholder thing.
