I got mod-happy...

I'm ancy waiting for my new stereo from Crutchfield and I had to do something to the rig. Its BONE stock so I did a few of the basics. I wont bother with write-ups bc there are so many of them for these already but I'm satisfied with my work.

Painted A/C rings
Removed air dam
DIY mesh grille

The rings ended up really nice. I used a Valspar 'Hammered' silver so they have a good sheen.

The air dam was a b****! Does anyone have a simple way to remove those phillips screws with the plastic cap on the other side? I ended up cutting them..

The mesh was the most involved but definitely came out great. I have the chrome grille inserts so I chose a metal mesh that matched. Also, because my rig is black I thought they would just be looked past. I did however use all black tie down anchors and zip ties. My advice for anyone looking into the grille mod is to use opxy under the self-adhesive anchors. I started zip-tying and a few of them popped up without epoxy. Anyway, before and after shots (grille only), you know what the rings look like).

Yeah that connerctor type sucks. About the same type they use to hold the grill on. If you can't screw the plastic screw out then you have to cut the head off.
