rear bumper build with tire carrier



put a greese port to make it easier to open

not welded yet

a crappy drawing of what i want the end result to look like two jerry can holders and a basket

all the metal i started with

updates


the bottom with the upright welded on it

angles added on.

had to flip this peice over it caused the tire to sit way to high up.

Looks good, you still plan on adding the Jerry can mounts and storage rack?

Probably not a good idea to be welding next to that much hey. Just saying, ive started my share of fires while welding

yes i am still planning on it. still trying to figure out what would be the best way to make them, with a way to lock them in so they dont get stolen. Yea me being a firefighter i prolly will weld out side next time. kinda flirting with disaster.

I dont know if you have northern tool out that way but they sell the Jerry can mounts, little bucket type tray that they sit in, then they just strap down. My plan was to use some of them and then cable lock them to the tire carrier some how.

Just giving ya a hard time about welding next to hay, but I almost burned down my garage while welding on one side and my friend was cleaning an axle with some brake clean and a bucket full of gas on the other side. Some how a spark jumped over there and caught a pile full of rags on fire and that 5 gallon bucket. That was a fun night
