DIY Control Arm Skids for $15

I'm new to the site and wanted to contribute something. Here are some front control arm skids i made from 1/4" steel. They are bolt on and protect the CA bushing and housing - which I view as a weak point for damage. The are bolted for ease of removal and use the OEM holes, no drilling.

Tools needed, Option 1: Orbital Grinder w/ Metal cutting disc, Metal saw or jigsaw w/ metal blade, Sanding block w/ 80grit, metal file, square, chalk/white grease-pen
Tools needed, Option 2: Replace grinder and saw with plasma cutter or torch.

First photo: uncut 4" outside dimension: 1/4" steel tube

Second: Cut out shape of skid

Third: Sanded, primed, painted

Fourth: Installed with Grade 8 bolt and washer.

Hit me up with any questions.

shit forgot - due to drunkeness...

i am also travelling for work now...

i know they are 5" deep (fron of skid to rear)

the tongue that sticks up to accomodate the bolt is 2.5" tall

and i think the tongue is 2" wide.

best thing u can do is measure. the important part is to get the right size tubing - evertything else is easy.
