Rutdigger:Foldout Tailgate Camping Table

I loved this project. I wanted more room when camping so I made this table that folds up into a 1.25" sqare when done:

This is what it looks like folded down on the tailgate:

So whatcha think about this one? I like it..we have used it on trips alot for eating sandwiches..lol.

Any pics of how you screwed it into the tailgate? What materials did you use? Is that wood?

I need more details because I really like the functionality of this. Been looking at the trail table from ORE and I think Woods makes one, but this is DIY and way cooler.

Kudos on all the projects, thanks for joining up on here and enlightening us with your skills.

Honestly I think I just used self taping screws and srewed it on..lol. I'll go look in a sec..pretty sure thats what I did. The whole thing is 16 gauge metal...you could use wood, but it would be bigger. The hinges are just piano hinges from Lowes that I cut down to size. The cool thing about this project is that you can make it as big or small as you need. You could make it the whole length of the tailgate if you needed to..

This is definitely the best Trail Table I have seen. It is large enough to be useful without taking up much space. Just curious about one thing... Does it avoid the factory subwoofer when the tailgate is closed or is it for non-subwoofer-equipped models?

It will not hit the Sub if you move it all the way to the latch side.. I love this table. Me and the family have used it a ton camping, at the shooting range, eating on it on family trips while at reast areas, the kids have even used it to play cards on while driving..lol.

I was going to ask, don't the cards blow off the table when the top is down? Then I realized who I was talking about. Then I was like, duh, he obviously fabricated some magnetic cards that stick to the table.
