install : neoprene armrest

Well after putting this off for the holidays i finally got around to installing my neoprene armrest. I recommend two people on this type of install, but my main install buddy (Talljeep) decided to go snow wheeling @ winrock instead of helping out! typical venezuelan!

on to the install

1. open box and make sure all the hardware is there!

2. Those of you with a mygig REW, set your navigation to the Vatican so your install goes smooth and no one gets injured etc....

3. You will need a torx20 to remove the factory screws --see pics.

4. here comes the hardest part. armrest placement with no help from the other side... it can be done just dont rush it!

5. Now grab a medium size phillips tip and screw in the supplied screws and plastic spacers.

6. final product , go give it a test drive and make sure you dont have any vibs or death wobble...

7. pat yourself in the back and go celebrate your new armrest!

In 2009 a crack commando wheelin' unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the South Florida underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as wheelers of fortune. If you have a problem. If no one else can help. And if you can find them. Maybe you can wheel with The 50/50 Off-Road Team.

Great write up! not sure I am technical enough to tackle it, but if I read it over a few more times, and have a few beers I might attempt it!

Just great. I wish I would have read this earlier. I just did this install 2 days ago by myself. It took maybe 3 minutes. If I would have had a helper it might have taken longer and I could have consumed more beer. Plus, I forgot that final step. Damn.

I love the armrest pad. Some say its almost too high, but I like it. I dont want to drive the Jeep leaning way over like some of the young kids nowadays.

Did you have any trouble with the nutserts on this one?

What do you do if you get elbow grease on the pad?

i mounted mine as far forward as i could manage. it sits about even with the front of the OEM arm rest. otherwise, i like mine alot. they should never have left hard plastic as the arm rest surface.
