Woods Hi-Lift mount install

Not much to it, but I thought I'd throw a few pics on here to show how easy it is to install. It literally only took 15 minutes from start to finish.

Tools needed:
3/8" drive ratchet
19mm socket
13mm socket
19mm wrench
1/2"-20 tap
tap handle
tapping oil

The tap is available for purchase from Woods, but I already had one lying around. Here's the link to the product itself:
http://jeepswag.com/jackmount/index.html

Step 1: uncover the holes to be tapped. I was happy that I only needed to undo the rear corners of my Bestop Safari Bikini to get to them:

Step 2: Remove the 13mm bolts from the sport cage, and tap the existing bungs 1/2"-20:

Step 3: Loosely install the brackets with the supplied hardware, and reinstall the factory 13mm bolts.

Step 4: Bolt the Hi-Lift to the brackets with the supplied bolts.

Final Step: Finish tightening the bracket bolts to the sport cage.

That's it...Done.

SUPER easy install and gets the jack out of the way. I didn't want it mounted to the rear bumper (couldn't mount it to the BFH anyway), and I'm not a big fan of hood-mounted jacks either. I keep thinking I'd drop the heavy bastard on the hood...

Very happy with the product!

Very cool product!

It mentions on his site that you need to remove the jack to put the soft top up or down. can you use the jack with the soft-top up?

No idea; I run topless year 'round. But, from what I've read, you can use the jack with the top up, but the top can't be put up or down with the jack mounted; it has to be removed to do either and then re-mounted.
