Last month the gf & I took a little road trip & attended the Low Country Mud Rats 9th Annual Savannah LCMR Jeep Show & hung out with Lee and some other fools from around these parts. We talked shit, had some brews & soaked our feet in a kiddie pool while I threw down on a decent chunk of raffle tickets. Well I never win ANYTHING so was quite surprised when I heard my number called~ for an sPOD system!
This is definitely one of those things that I would never consider "spoiling myself" with. There's so much other shit out there that though this is certainly one of those "nice to have" things, I could never quite justify. BIG MISTAKE. I wish I had pulled the trigger on this thing loooong ago. Overall it took about 3 1/2 hours to install the system and undo the total hack job I had done with my CB, KC's & winch.
Anyhow, John's color instructions make for an easy install but I figured I'd post em up here if anyone ever needs a quick reference or if you're one of those folks that are sitting one the fence about getting one. You gotta do it. You won't be sorry.
Everything out of the box. John even hooked me up with a LVCO and some switch labels. What a guy!!
Not the first time The General has had the power tools put to it. Drilling out the rivets for the footman loop.
Just get the rivet head, don't drill all the way through.
The instructions stipulate reaming of the hole. DO IT. You'll thank John for the tip. Edit: This is not the same size drill bit for the rivets! I just matched up one with the piece of bent allthread that attaches the bracket to the header.
Switch bracket installed.
Tightening the switch pod up.
This thing fits NIIIIIIIIIIICE!
More wire routing.
