Well, shockingly enough, I was able to change my own diff fluid. Now I know this isn't a huge thing for most, but it was a damn big deal for me, so back off!!
Anyway, for the fluid changing challenged, here ya go..you will need a bunch of gear oil I bought 4 quarts total. Exact amounts aren't important right now, you'll soon find out why.
ok, so first things first, there are 2 plugs on the diff, one to fill, and one to drain. Start by removing the fill plug. That one will be the higher of the two. Don't freak out if oil starts to come out of the plug...That is a good thing.
Now remove the lower of the two plugs, and let the fluid drain out.
Let that drain for a while. Now on the bottom plug, you should notice a build up on the inside of the plug. That is metal shavings that are collected on the plug. That is normal, unless you have some major issue.
After letting the oil drain for a while, screw in the bottom plug. Then add oil through to fill hole until it starts to spill out. Once that happens, the diff is full.
Do the same with the other diff. The rear will take more fluid than the front, so don't freak out. If you are concerned with the actual amounts, a more tech savvy thread has the amounts.
Once I was done, I sprayed some brake cleaner around the diff to clean up any leaks.
That's it...Done. It's so easy, even I can do it.
