When I had the supercharger I was informed that I would get more air at high speeds by making holes in the rear of my snorkel. I thought they were crazy. But I tested it out by hand (passanger) and at speeds above 50-60 mph it turns out the snorkel sucks in more air with holes drilled in the snorkel. I don't know if it's the shape of the older model snorkel (that I have) or some other concept of physics that I don't understand, but it works.
I figure this is a good place to show my River Raider intake box. I got this for several reasons. First of all due to living in CA a LOT of trails are very sandy... and I noticed when my snorkel is attached that my filter gets extremely filthy FAST. Therefore I can unattach my Snorkel with this. Another reason why I got this is to run as a Cold Air intake. Believe it or not but I feel that running with the box open give you more then the snorkel. The box is sealed right now because after the CA rains there may be water around here but during the summer I run with the box open and have rubber attached to the open edges to close the box in a hurry when I'm on the trail. Also don't mind the straps, I plan to get a good mounting tray soon.
