Question Insulating freedom tops

Well I have read the other threads on insulating the freedom tops, but I was wondering if anybody knew if it could be done by using like an expanding spray in foam?

Given how easy and inexpensive ($8) it is with building foam - no smell, no flaking, can remove/replace - why the spray foam?

Seems like a lot of trouble but I'm not sure what kind of foam you have in mind - the spray foams I have used in construction are going to apply very unevenly and some flake. Sprayed polyurethane roofing foam would work but have to add a protective elastomeric coating or it will erode - also takes a special sprayer to mix the two parts.

I haven't done this yet but it looks like a cheap easy mod.

If you decide to do it - take the top off, otherwise the roll bar will get in the way of doing a good cut and fit - also can't use spray glue near roll bar because foam won't slide across glue surface to wedge under roll bar. I did it with the top on, so it can be done with some patience by slight trim and fits, just not as well.

(Mod - please move this thread out of Write up Dept. (The Library) or tack it onto the thread I mentioned above)
