If you want to try both colors out to see which one you like, spray it with plastidip. If you don't like it peel it off and go with another color.

if you want the grill to look good and not chip from rocks on the highway, sand it down, and get some good bed liner. I did this to 5 grill's and they all look great.

x2. I used Duplicolor Bedliner on my '09 and it held up very well. I'm going to do the same thing to my '14 grill over the CHRISTMAS holiday.

To follow up on my post above, I panted mine with plastidip to see how I liked it. It has held up about six months now. I used the plastidip to ensure I would like the black over a period of time. Now that is has been on six months when I find some Bedliner in a rattle can in South Korea, I will make the black permanent. I need to increase my search range, I got t-boned by a taxi a few days ago and he scratched my rock rails. His taxi didn't fare so well.

I like mine. Tape off the inside of the grill slots and paint the rest black. Don't forget to sand it.
