37x13.50x17 Toyo Open Country on OEM wheels?

I'm thinking 37x13.50x17 Toyo Open Country on 2010 Rubicon OEM wheels...

I have a 4" TeraFlex lift and 1.5" spacers...

(been eyeballing pretty good prices from a non-advertiser... but also trying to get in contact with Marcus at RCO to give him a shot)

Will they fit?

Opinions please:

They'll fit, certainly not the first to run that setup.

Thanks for the reply -

No issues with 13.5 inch width on 9 in wheels?

I'm not too worried about stuffing or rubbing yet...

.. I want these bad

9"? The factory JK wheels 7.5" wide.

It's a poor mans Beadlock off road, but there aren't any major issues with running that setup.

You will have some crazy rubbing if you take them off road. A net bs of around 3.5" would be a better fit for that size tire

Doesn't crazy rub. It does rub his RK arms, but not an obnoxious amount.

I bet there are a couple of streaks in the sidewalls on the rear of that rig from the sway bar links rubbing the tires. There must be some limits on the steering as well not rub the front sway bar and frame.

No rear sway bar. Has a front Rubi bar.

(still entertaining comments)

Stock wheels with spacers will still have rubbing?

I would not they spec wider than most do.

They are a stiffer load range E. So to get a flat contract onroad you would have to run super low air pressure.

I have them on AEV running 20-25 on road.

You will want to chalk test them and adjust the air pressure accordingly so you're not running on the center of the tire, but you'll be OK.

With wheel spacers you'll be at about 4.5" back spacing and it'll rub lowers at full lock when you turn but you can fix that with the steering stops. 37/1250s do the same thing at that back spacing FYI.

thats my steel blue above. 1.5 spacers in front will rub slightly on the arms and swaybar at full lock. 2.5 spacers in the front is perfect. still running 1.5 spacers in the rear.

Ok, since Discount Tire won't install the 37's on my OEM wheels, who in the DFW area is the "go-to-guy" to get this done?

Discount won't put the tire on your wheel at all or will they not do it with the spacer?

Discount mounted my 37's, which I bought from them, although on a 8" wide aftermarket wheel. I put my 1.5" spacers on my self. They won't mess with spacers.

Discount Tire wouldn't do it just with tires and wheels.

So I guess I'll check the Goodyear garage first and then visit one of those other places.

Kudos to the local 4 Wheel Parts guys in Coppell, TX.

They didn't bat an eye when I asked them about mounting 37x12.50x17 on OEM 17x7.5 Moabs.

Shame on DT, NTB and GY, lol... but I suppose I can understand...

How is the handling without the rear sway bar? Mine is rubbing on my coils and I was thinking of removing it but I am a die hard "Drive it to the trail, drive it home" guy.... I wasn't sure how bad it affected it.

My YJ was a no brainer. Rip off as much craps as possible so it'd at least flex like a wet log.

I would expect a bit of rubbing on the control arms and frame at full flex with 12" travel shocks but nothing to be really concerned about.

so this is an interesting thread.

I am currently running 37" MTR/k's on stock rubi wheels with 1.75" spydertrax spacers for a measured/verified backspace of 4.5". I get some rub on the frame and the metalcloak LCAs when aired down off road.

That said, I want to move to a set of walker evans beadlocks and have a backspacing question...

I plan to replace the MTRs with the Nittos and was torn between ordering the wheels in 4.0 bs and 4.25 bs. Sounds like 3.75 might even be the better choice? FWIW, stock width axles with no upgrade plans.

OH and BTW.... I had to go to some local mom and pop hole in the wall used tire dealer to get them mounted. no chain store (local or national) would touch the job with a 10' pole.
