you mean steel versus alloy

one is lighter

one bends

one breaks

one is heavier

and one costs less while the other costs more

It depends on the alloy you are talking about. Most aluminium products are alloy. Take a look here for a good explanation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium_alloy
