I just did a bunch of this very research myself. And it is my opinion that with all things considered, the Hercules Trail Digger M/T is the best bang for the buck. Here is a picture of my '08 JKU with 35x12.5x17" Hercules Trail Diggers. They are mounted on 17x8" ProComp wheels. I would have to measure the backspacing. The wheels are a little flashy for my tastes, but they were on the Jeep when I bought it.

I was very happy with my Kumho KL71, and the price in the 315-70-17 was very reasonable. Only downside for me was that they are directional.
