Fit questions about Moto Metal 20x9 Wheels

Just bought 4 Moto Metal 951's 20x9 wheels, 5x5 pattern. I have a stock 08 Sahara JK. My plan was to get new larger tires on these wheels, sell the old tires, and hold onto the stock wheels for later when I sell the Jeep. I was going to get a spare tire cover as well. What are my options for the tire size on these new wheels? Can I get 20 inch tires without rubbing? What is the max I can get?

What offset/backspacing on those wheels?

That wheel is 20x9 +18mm 5.71BS.....just depends on what brand of tire you want to go with to get you sizing....285/55/20, 295/55/20, etc.....

Thanks for the responses. I am not sure of the offset but I have visited some tire places and I think 20" tires will work with only a 1% change in depth.

I would answer your question but I think I got confused trying to read your post but I will take a shot

First get a fifth wheel do no cheap out and run a damn tire cover if you are to cheap to get a fifth wheel then don't get the wheels

If you are stock 33" tires maybe 35 with spacers with level kit will fit , I won't finsh the rest because I don't think you will left it soon and ever put bigger tires on it

Coming from a guy with 20's on 37" tires

not much help ^^

you are running a 20x10 XD123...he is looking at a positive offset Moto Metal. Different ballgame. to run the wheel that is in the OP you will need spacers once you go to bigger tires than ones that are marginally bigger than stock.

If you read what I posted I say you will maybe need spacers with 35's
Still again what do I know I could have swear these are positive offset wheels

Either way,spacers will be required if he goes wider than a 295/55 or equivelant.

When I had 35's I didnt need spacers but I have a 4" lift , but when I got 37's at full turn I rub barely and that was because of the sidewalls on the toyo's But I did get spacers to stop it

So all I can say really is put them on and if you rub get spacers if you don't then you are good , it really is hard to say if you will rub or not

Update

I got the 20" tires to go with the wheels. Looks very nice. No spacers needed or lift. The 5th tire/wheel combo fits as well on the spare with no fit kit, no problem. I am having issue with vibrations now, though, between 50 and 55. Any ideas? I've had Discount Tire balance and rebalance a couple times, I got a new wheel since they said one wasn't true. It's still bouncing like crazy and these aren't mud tires. I'm taking it to the Jeep dealer for an oil change and will ask their opinion as well.

first solution is to have hub rings or ET style lug nuts to help center the wheel up a tad better.

Yeah check lugs and what tires did you get

Also check pressure but that depends on the tires you got

But it still sounds like a balancing issue

Tires

I believe I got these:

Cooper Zeon LTZ

275/55R-20 117S XL B

They never mentioned new lugs at Discount Tire. They've balanced them multiple times, and there is no shaking at any speed but around 55 and up until about 62. Below or above that it's fine. Hopefully the Jeep dealership has run into this, I'm guessing they have to see this kind of thing all the time with after market wheels. Thanks.

Check your psi I had to see what tires you got so they are AT , so check to make sure they didn't put 60 lbs in them

The speed of your shake still sounds like a balance issue and jut because they said doesn't mean they did , wonder if they even remounted them to make sure about the balance

And stay the hell away from the dealer this is not a issue for them
