Stokish tires question

Ok, so I have a small dillema.... While I want to switch out the stock tires from my JK I want to retain fuel economy I am not looking to upgrade the size yet (I have another rig built for wheeling) I want to get better tire for occasional trail running (light trails) to out of the way areas...

I used to love BFG AT's. Had them from 235's.... all the way to 35's. Now I"m running BFG MT's on my other rig. Wanted to see about getting a set for the JK and when I saw the price I damn nearly fell out of my chair!

So back to drawing board Looking for pretty inexpensive, decently performing offroad (again, nothing hardcore, just light trail running while camping or exploring) and good fuel economy wise tires.....

Any recomendations?
