How quickly does TMPS work?

Say you changed your wheels out and the new ones didn't have TPMS sensors... how soon would the light come on?

Been a few years since I changed my wheels but it seems like it happened immediately or within the first few minutes of driving.

Usually immediate but can take up to like 5 miles.

Lord, give me patience. I'm afraid that if you give me strength I'll need bail money too.

Interesting.

Well I bought new tires/wheels, not expecting them to have TPMS sensors in them. Driven nearly 15 miles to work this AM and still no light. Wonder if they accidentally installed them.

Wow. That's surprising. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

The delay just seems bizarre to me. Would it delay if the pressure were low too? Seems really crazy to not come on soon. I'm not doubting you, I expect it will come on too... I couldn't be lucky enough to have had them accidentally install TPMS sensors w/o charging me. That just doesn't happen to me.

Well, as predicted, light came on last night. 250 miles and a week after putting them on.

I really expected it to come on sooner than that. Oh well... looks like it's a crapshoot as to when it will come on which seems very strange to me.
