Nitto Trail Grappler 285/70R17-C Availability

Nitto's website shows the Trail Grappler MT in a 285/70R17 load range C, stock #205450. My local Discount Tire shows no availability as does tirebuyer.com

Are these a brand new size and production hasn't really began? Any other ideas for sources? This is the only load C MT tire I've found in this size.

I just spoke with Nitto and they now offer the 285/70R-17 Trail Grappler in 6-ply construction in addition to the 10-ply construction. They have stock available so your local Discount Tire can order a set for you The product code is 11819.

For reference, our current mail order price on this tire is $277.00 each.

FYI:

The new Nitto 285/70R17 load range C weigh in at 68lbs. I was hoping for a bit less than the E's but it doesn't appear that way. But they seem to ride a bit softer than the MTR D's they replaced.

I was able to buy the exact Nitto tires from 4 Wheel Online. They told stock is abundant.

Now that you have had the tires longer, does the C vs D load rating make that much of a difference? I am looking for 33s and was considering the BFG KM2s or the GY MTRs due to their weight being 10lbs less than the Nittos but was concerned about the D rating. I really wanted 34's (285/75R17) but they are E rated.
