Trail ready rock ring questions....

Looking at a set of trail ready beadlocks and have a couple of questions...

There are three rock ring choices, any advantage to getting the taller rock rings or World Series rings over the compact ring?

Not sure if I want to have the rings anodized for looks or not. Can't find any pictures of scratched up anodize rock rims. How bad will these things look after heavy use?

I haven't called trail ready yet but wonder if the beadlocks threads have threaded metal inserts like the walker Evans.

It also looks like they are thicker in the center so I wonder if they would clear the BR6 brakes.

Thanks

I went with the wider rings on both sets I have. They help protect the valve stem. Only downside is that they hold water and mud back behind them. I have had to scoop mud out before I could drive home (waaaaaay bad balance with the mud).

I have jeeps. I do shit to them.

I would avoid the anodized bead locks. I just finished sanding the black anodizing off of my Walker Evans because they were scratched up and looking like shit. Some of my other wheels looked even worse than this one.

Anybody buying the lifetime warranty on these? Worth it?

The warranty is only worth it if you're planning on racing KOH. If not, you don't need it.

Just spray paint the rings. Rattle can is easy touchup if you care.

Thanks folks.

Ordered the slim rings without the anodizing and no warranty.

Did you have Walker powdercoat the wheel(not the ring)? Cant tell from the pic but is it smooth or textured?

Where did you get those rock ring bolts?

I was going to order a set with the rings anodized black and Larry told me they'll still scratch up. I'm going to powder coat them and then touch up with spray paint after trips. LOL

Nice choice on Trail Ready wheels! They are top notch!

Mine showed up earlier this week and I dropped them off at the powder coater's yesterday.

I'm stoked about getting them put together and on the Jeep!

If you're going to paint the rings, this may be helpful:

I've had perfect adhesion results by scuffing with red Scotch Brite and cleaning with Windex, then shooting a thin layer of etching primer before a flexible urethane coating.
I haven't had any paint come off that wasn't still attached to aluminum.
