New tire help

I'm starting early to looking for a replacement set of tires for my 08 JKU. I have Nitto Mud Grapplers in the 35 12.50 18"s version. I know these tires are very heavy just from rotating them. I'm looking for a tire that isn't as noisy on the road with comparable off road capability and of course lighter. These tires I have now have been on this Jeep for 3 years and have around 30000 miles on them with plenty of tread on them. I just upgraded my gears to 5.13's and I'm looking to go larger to a 37 or 38" tire. Any real world experience would be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend looking at the 37x12.50R18 Procomp Extreme MT2. These would be a great balance between on and off road capability and they are one of the lightest tires available in this size. According to the ship weights in my system the Procomp Extreme MT2 in a 37x12.50R18 is actually lighter than the 35x12.80R18 Mud Grappler by a decent amount.

Thank you for your reply. Do they make this tire in a 38"?

Unfortunately this tire is not made in a 38. Here is a link to Pro Comp's website listing all their sizes:
