Upgrading Stock Tires/Wheels (no lift or spacers)

Tearing up my 2012 Jeep Wrangle JK..

..and I've loved every heart stopping moment of it. But it's time to start undertaking some upgrades. First up, tires and wheels. I've chewed up my stock set and have been reaching out to all my 4x4 friends for recommendations.

Here is what I'm looking at:

Tire Option #1: Wrangler M/TR with Kevlar (link)

Tire Option #2: BFGoodrich Mud-Terrian T/A KM2 (link)

Wheel Option #1: US Wheels - Daytona Style - Gun Metal (link)

At this point I'm trying to avoid any kind of lift and/or wheel spacers. I love the new wheel option, but I'm having a hard time deciding between the two sets of tires. One of my main concerns is proper fitting. If I went with a 285/75/16 tire and a 16x8" wheel with a 5" back spacing.. Will it fit the rest of my stock JK? Should I worry about the tires rubbing? The stock set comes with 255/75/17 tires and 17x8" wheels I believe. So if I go down an inch on my rim size, will they still fit around my stock brake calibers?

I'm getting ready to put in my first of many fairly expensive upgrades. Trying to reach to the experts and doers out there for a little guidance.

Ya gotta start somewhere.. Need your help though.

Thanks in advance!

Bought my 2012 fresh from the dealership.. 25min after I left.. It was just me and my new baby mobbing through a dried up riverbed. In love with her ever since.
