A few TPMS Questions

Does the TPMS system in a JK recognize all four tires on the ground AND the spare tire? Also, where is are the sensors located on the vehicle side, not the valve stems in the wheels? Are the integrated into the wheel speed sensors somehow?

Thanks in advance.

most of them will have 5 sensors, meaning the spare will have one as well.

they are the valvestems. should be a silver color rigid valve sticking out. that is connected to a small device inside the wheel that has a battery and it sends a frequency to the vehicle.

like this

or this (this is the style I swapped into the wifes since they are easier to work with)

Okay, so they have 5 sensors(one for each wheel), but how many receivers and where are they located in a JK? Are the sensors that pick up the signal coming from the valve stem transmitter located in the ABS sensor integrated into the unit bearing? Are they receivers located somewhere else in the wheel well? I'm just trying to understand the system.

Thanks for the reply btw.

Didn't want to start another thread, but does anyone know the part numbers for the TPMS on a 2014 JKU Sport?

Bringing this backup, anyone knows how to disable the TPMS on a JK? I believe Diablo etc can program speedo and TPMS disable, am thinking there may be an ease approach rather than buying a unit for a one time use thing? Thanks
