37s and 5.0 backspacing

Ive got 37" pitbulls on order and im wondering if my backspacing will work. Its currently fine with 35s. Ive got stock control arms and wheels with 5.0 backspacing that were on the jeep when I bought it. 17x9 I believe. Anyone using this setup or close to it?

Id like new wheels but its just not a priority right now.

Those 37" pitbulls will rub with a 5" BS. You will need 1.75" wheel spacers to get them to clear.

So according to gears website my wheels are

Offset +10
Backside 5.39
Hub bore 78mm

I just need to go measure it. I would think at 5.39 bs even my 35s would rub.

It would be very close to rubbing with 35s and a 5.39 BS. If those are the true specs you will want 2" wheel spacers to get a 3.39 BS for 37s. My 40" Trail Grapplers rubbed with a 4.5" BS wheels plus 2" wheel spacers (2.5" net BS). I had to add 2 washers to the steering stops to stop the rubbing at full lock.

On stock wheels I am not surprised.

For what its worth, I have 37x17x12.5 BFG KM2's with 3.75" backspacing and they do not rub. With my old wheels that had 4.75" backspacing they did rub and I had to use 1.25" spacers before they did not rub.

4.5 BS 17X8 wheels, 1.5" spacer, 37" MTR's

effective 3" BS, I still rub on the control arms some at full lock and stuff a little.

My pitubulls are in and I ended up going with a 1.5 spacer. I'll get them mounted up friday. Hopefully I trimmed enough pinch seam off.
