SWFL Intro

Hey JKO,

My name is Chase. I joined JKO last year and then got caught up in life and haven't been on in a long time so here's my intro post. I live in Southwest FL, 26 years old, been wrenching on cars/jeeps since my first vehicle at 16 (Jeep Liberty). Went through some go fast years then some slammed cars years, some streetbike years and finally been back in Jeeps since 2014. My buddies and I all have crawlers that we try and take on a few trips to Alabama/Tennessee area a year. I have a civil engineering degree from FGCU and currently work in Construction Management. I recently got rid of all social media, so now I get a lot more stuff done both at work and at home. That leads me to my rebirth in the forums, I started my tubed backhalf project in January and want to be able to document its progress. I only have time to work on it after work during the week as I am in Tampa every weekend with my gf and our daughter. Deadline is to make it to Jeepbeach to sit in lines for beach access.. wish me luck!

Thanks!

Surgery began in January, I started a thread for the build in modified tech but can't post pics yet. If anyone knows a way around the post minimum, I'd be happy to add pics.

Oh and the admins have to approve the thread in modified tech. Therefore, currently, it cannot be viewed yet.

We have a new mod but not sure they let him drive alone yet.

I am not volunteering to populate the invisible build thread with pics but I can post one up here if you send me a pic

OK.

This is surreal .

I will approve whatever but I really need to say something ;

I swear on my name I've been planning on this as my penultimate "finished" milestone for my 4door. I kid you not.

Once I realized the wife wouldn't care I have been readying to cut her in half and tube chassis the rear ,lmao.

I don't know whether to be pissed-off or thrilled to see someone truggy-ing thier four door . I guess I've been beaten to it!

Check out , I even have the ( high quality rendering in 'MSPaint') picture i threw together the morning I woke up after dreaming of it...5,6 years ago.

Too coincidental ....

I be very interested in this build .

Welcome to JKOwners ,dammit.

haha well you're sort of in luck since mine is a 2dr but it is at 111" wheelbase and IIRC the 4drs are at 116". The great part of doing it yourself is you can design it exactly how you want it so I hope my thread in modified tech at least provides at some insight, lessons learned and my thought process on why I do things the way I do.

Oh and I told my gf that I'll buy her a ring after I finish this stage of the jeep so naturally, shes been rather motivating.

NUMBER 8!

The best way to light the fire is buy a 5 pack of Diablo sawzall blades, drink a few beers, scribe some lines, and cut it in half. There's really only one direction to go from there!

Your timelines tend to jibe with mine. Must be the wife kid factor not to mention slow internet connections.

I do like my jeep porn so looking fwd to more shots/info on this project.

Thanks man. The post minimum is only 10 so I'll be posting pics to the thread by the end of the day. I Already have a few lessons learned so should have some insightful content.

Yeah, the gf's opinion is not vetted in the Jeep so she probably won't care. She's too busy thinking about that Ring .

Take it from a guy who's married - mostly happily - to former gf of 5-6 years , then 1yr of engagement then 22yrs of matrimony;

the Ring is more critical to the fairer sex in that context ( gf serious enough to mention you're likely gonna put ring on her finger) than any Ring that hobbits might "find" then try to hide/destroy from a necromancing orc-Lord of Darkness in a backwater hellhole called Mordor.

This will be a time you look back upon & realize you still could control a small bit of your life w/that 'ring' carrot dangling over her head ; once the ring is on her pretty,perfect little manicured finger , the claws of possession, the control freak w/ adorable fanny emerges displaying fangs you didn't notice before & other scary stuff which no longer gets filtered .

lol.

I might be joking , tho maybe not; my wife'll know...(see?)
