Hi From Idaho

Hi everyone,

I'm a retired Army Sergeant First Class, retired six and half years ago. My family and I built a house on the land that my wife grew up on. We have two kids, 20 and 19. We own a 1976 CJ-5, a surviving 1 of 2 painted in 1977 7P Lime Green...the other one is sitting in a field in upstate New York, completely rotted. I was recently rear-ended by an old man, while I was stopped at an intersection, and my '01 Z06 Corvette is completely totaled, so I've been bouncing around the idea of getting another Jeep. I love the look of the JK, so I'm probably going to spend a lot of time reading your posts, to get a better understanding of the model....my knowledge pretty much ends with the XJ and YJ Jeeps. I normally hang out on the other forum (JF), but I like the vibe of this forum better. I look forward to getting to know you guys.

Here's a pic of my CJ-5.

That CJ slays. Very cool.

Nice to meet you & welcome to a place where ,if your skin is thick enough , you can learn more than any human should know about a Wrangler variant known as "JK /JKU " .

Thanks for the compliment on the CJ. It's my favorite vehicle in the stable, and I'm glad I wasn't driving it the day I got hit, because I would have probably died.

Thick skin? Yeah, nothing offends me...life's too short for that shit.

Welcome fellow 2c plate owner. Killer looking CJ. You picked the right site to learn all things JK/JKU. Good luck in your hunt for a new ride.

Thank you! God knows there's a bunch of JK/JKU's in our neck of the woods! Are you still in 2C or are you in 1A now?

I've always been in the 2C. When I signed up here I figured most people here would know where Boise is, where I live..prob not so much. The are a metric shit ton of jks running around here for sure. When I got mine I was one of two in our little town. Now they are everywhere in a town of 7500 people. There's even a lifted black rubicon with a motor swap running around here now. Stay in touch as you go through getting one. I'm always desperately looking for people to go explore our area with.

Welcome! Retired myself and just moved from Meridian to Reno, NV. Love Idaho but enjoying the new adventures. Tons of Jeeps around. Idaho off-road is a great club and very welcoming to FNGs.
