Been in Colorful Colorado for just over a year now. Relocated from Dallas for work and after my second snow “storm”... err dusting... I chicken sh*tted and left my shiny new Mustang in my office parking lot and Ubered to the dealer where I picked up a previously loved 2010 JKU Rubicon. The dealer went on about features none of which I unserstood as I’ve never considered a lift on a sports car but it seemed practical and would fit the doggos. Single owner in Montana cared for it dearly and I think twice about the 142,000 on the odometer.
Fast forward 9 months and just shy of 25,000 miles my daily driver has been back to the Promised Land twice, up and down the mountains, through every puddle, pond and flood I could find and still runs like a champ. At the ripe age of 25 I’ve taken a up a new job title “Unemployed” and loving it— haven’t had time off since I was a senior in High School and with the help of my mechanic neighbor I’ve found what was once a friendly wave to my brothers and sisers with same grille has turned into my new favorite hobby.
In the last 2 weeks I....
-Installed PowerStop Z36 Truck+Tow brakes and rotors (what I should have said is for the last 2 weeks I...). Certain that was the one thing left untouched for the cars life
-Started spark plugs, was reprimanded (and graciously informed) by my only forum friend j3ffrey_j33p for not introducing myself
-Upgraded to LED rear blinkers, after 89 trips to AZ for odds and ends I am proud to say the solder to my equalizer lasted 9 minutes during brake-break in!
-Getting rust off the chassis, becoming friends with rubberized spray paint. Trying not to get carried away.
-Oh and tomorrow I will attempt to fix what it undeniable a DW. Not a “think it is” or “symptomatic of” but with 100% certainty. By fix I will likely drive back to my local 4x4 as my ATB was installed not long ago at all.
Thanks for having me, happy jeeping!!
