Wait I don't even own a Jeep yet!?!

My name is Jason and I live in Shallowater , TX and you must be wondering why I'm here if I don't even own a Jeep. I'm 36 and I've been into cars my whole life, mostly pre war hot rods. My family and I love the outdoors. Hiking, camping, fishing, hunting .....all of it. It's time to get to places that I can't currently go. This is where the Jeep comes in. While I have built hot rods before I know absolutely nothing about building up a Jeep. So what better place to come than a group of people with real world experience. I'm getting ready to order my Jeep and will be asking a ton of quesions. I don't belive in doing anything half a$$ed and doing it right the first time is always cheaper and faster in the long run. Please excuse me for my ignorance on what may seem simple and thank you for all your help in advance.

Welcome to JKO!

Let me start you off.

1.) If you plan to really build it (Axles, big tires, long arms / coilovers, and lots of gear.) buy the Sport and invest in those things separately. If you just want to go 35", maybe 37" tires, buy a Rubicon and reinforce the stock Dana 44 axles, flat fenders, and a 2.5"/3.5" " lift. It really depends on what you plan to do with it.
2.) No budget boost threads.
3.) Use the Google Search located on the top right side of the forum page at the main view. Chances are, someone has probably already asked a dozen times.
4.) Be prepared to go broke in record time, Jeep is a never ending money pit, especially when you leave the comfy confines of stock parts.
5.) Enjoy your time here, tons of great people.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I think my plans are to go with the rubicon. I really don't see me every going bigger than 37's. I'm looking at the rock krawler 3.5" x-factor lift and 35's to start. Automatic with 4.10's should be good I think. Also bumpers, wench, and lights. I want to be able to drive to the trail, have my fun for the weekend and then drive home with no worries.
