New guy from the Black Hills

My name is Matt, and since I just bought a JK I guess I can finally register on JKOwners. I'm in the Air Force as a weapons loader, which means I'm responsible for making sure the aircraft have bombs to drop. I have been deployed 4 times in the last 6 years and I'm gearing up for my 5th right now.

The JK is a new 2015 Willys Wheeler that I bought last Sunday to replace my wife's 2011 Chevy traverse that kept having issues. Since it's going to be her DD the plan is to leave it stock for now and just enjoy the heck out of it.

The blue YJ is a 1994 sport. I did a SOA swap on it, ford 8.8 with a limited slip, Dana 30 front with chromoly shafts, 35 inch procomps (need new tires), smittybilt built bumpers (previous owner) and a warn VR12 winch. Currently building a stroked 4.0l for it, got the donor motor from a free 1992 XJ which I still need to get rid of.

Anyways can't wait to take part in this forum and I hope I can learn a lot about the JKs from here.

Our sister career field likes to use that saying, if you ain't ammo you ain't ..... We have a pretty good rivalry, but in the end we help each other out.

I'll have to check out the military section

Going to leave it mostly stock, but I am already planning a new front bumper and warn winch.

Thanks, got it with only 33k miles on it and was bone stock minus bumpers. I've put a lot of work into it and I've got a lot to go. Next up is new tires, new leaf springs and a set of metal cloak fenders so I can take advantage of the how well it flexes

Took the YJ out for a little fun today.

got to try out the Warn VR12 twice, first was a stuck chevy 4x4 which i forgot to get pictures of the second was a self recovery since my bald AT tires aren't very traction inspiring in mud.

Im getting ready to deploy here soon so there should be some upgrades coming for the YJ and maybe even something for the JK
