New to forum and JK

Hello all. I am looking to be a new JK owner by the end of the week. Looking at a stock Wrangler Sport with a manual transmission and no bells and whistles. I have limited experience with older CJs but this will be my first time owning one.

Hoping for some sound advice and help when it comes time for upgrades! I plan on keeping everyone up to date and will post some pics as soon as she is mine.

Thanks

Thanks. Noticed a few fellow Marines here. It was actually my recruiter that got me interested in Jeeps about 12 years ago. I did 4 years from '04-'08. No good war stories from me though.

Seems like the Base Sport with only AC as an option (Manual tranny, i will settle for nothing less) is pretty difficult to come by here in Northeast PA. One dealer that had one wrote me up for full MSRP, plus tax, title, tags, etc. He must think I am crazy. I realize it may be prime season, but I can wait. I am not paying 30K for a base model sport!

Howdy. Quite a few military and ex-military from all branches here.

Join TreadLightly, find dealership that accepts the discount, order the exact Jeep you want, save money.

Post of pics of the Jeep when you get it.

Welcome. A JK is going to be a lot more comfortable than the old CJ. They are really quite nice.

Made the purchase this weekend. 2015 JK 2 door with a Manual Transmission and a hard top. Firecracker Red. The only options besides the top were AC and the tow package. The weather here hasn't been too good so the top hasn't come off yet. Maybe next week.

I would have rathered a soft top, but hopefully i can find one for a reasonable price on the forum or CL.

Before i get too crazy with mods, is there anything that will void the factory warranty, like new wheels and tires and a small lift? Thinking about 35s or 37s, and i am still researching but probably a 2.5 lift.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
