Hello from California

Hello all. My name is Jason and I'm currently looking at purchasing a new Jeep JK. I've been a Chevy guy forever but recent events has made me question why I ever bought one in the first place. I'm into hunting, fishing, offroading, camping, and anything else that gets me out of this concrete jungle. A Jeep just seems like the obvious decision for a vehicle to get me there.
I've found a lot of info on this site, thats why I registered, but I still have questions like ,How often do those of you (with both tops) switch out your tops? Whats the difference in a Rubicon and a Sport X or a Sahara?
I've been looking at a Rubicon but that may be more than I need, a Sport X might be good but I'm not sure of the difference, heavier duty axles, suspension, Tires? The Sahara seems to be a real version of the Canyonero F-series ala The Simpsons.
I just know I have a lot more research to do before I get one, so if I ask any stupid questions I apologize in advance and please feel free to point out my stupidity

Welcome. The basic differences between the models are in axles and equipment. What's right for you depends on what you want to do with it.
What part of California are you in?

Welcome! Generally, if you have wheeled before and you plan to wheel again, no one ever regrets buying the Rubicon. Unless you plan to go immediately to 60's, Atlas, and coilover, you will get your money's worth out of the Rubi's axles, transfer case, tires and gearing--all under warranty!

Happy shopping!

Welcome!
I don't think the 2010 JKs have the lifetime warranty. So be sure you check.

Thanks for the comments. After a week of having my first Jeep I'm loving it, and also have noticed that every other Jeep owner I see on the road waves at me now. Jeep owners are the best, Thanks all
