Newbi....

... Hi all from Houston Tx. I got my JK last Dec. It was a Christmas present for myself. I have always wanted a Jeep and I really needed a daily so I thought I'd pick one up. Now I just have to save some money for some mods. I really don't do much offroading but I would like to do a few trails. I went for a 2wd considering it waas cheaper and it's all I could afford at the time. I figured once I got into this a little more I could do a conversion to 4wd. I really want a lift and some 35's to start with. My background is hotrods and old motorcycles. I just sold my 56 Belair to get the JK, and I sold my bikes. I worked for Flyright choppers for 5 years and a shop called Crushproof in Austin for a few years. I just recently moved to Houston, and went back to electrical work. Enough about me, I'm just gonna sit back and try to learn all I can.

I had no idea either. I thought I was gonna be able to gt me a cheap 4wd. I was pretty bummed , but atleast I have a good starting point. I'll just have to start out with some good recovery gear I guess.

Welcome to JKO, in the end the 2wd will work out great as a build platform, and with your mechanical background, it shouldn't be a problem.

Rest In Peace Guinness. You will never be forgotten. My brother and my best friend
