Newb from Texas

Hi, my name Is Rodney. I just bought a 2008 jeep wrangler unlimited x 4x4 4 dr jeep with 3600 miles on it. It is a white soft top. It already had a Terafle. Lift on it bit not sure what size. I'm going to say aroung 3". It has Pro comp 1089 wheels with 35" procomp all terrain tires. I don't know a whole lot about jeeps so I will be needing help along the way. First thing I plan on doing is the gears. I plan on tackleing this myself but don't know how hard of a job it will be. Then the chrome wheels got to go. Don't know if I want to trade out of them or have them powdercoated. Look forward to being here and modding out the Jeep. I can't leave anything stock.

Welcome to jkowners.

*Just a piece of advice- Seriously consider taking your JK to a professional shop (or friend) to do the gears. They use very close tolerances in terms of the gear mesh and setting them up with shims. It is also very easy to mess-up the plunger assembly on the JK. This is a job that's worth the expense to have done correctly imo.

Poly Performance - Dynatrac - Currie - Goodyear - Poison Spyder - Warn - PSC - AEV - Reid Racing - Off-Road Evolution - Flowmaster - Delta - Riddler - Micky Thompson - Daystar - Skid Row - Uniden - Rebel Offroad - Firestik - Warrior Products - Viair - HiLift - ARB - Kicker - Infinity

Yeah, and Screamin Lizard is just right down the road. Give 'em a call, they might still be running a gear install special.

I know exactly where Burleson TX is. I lived at the "RV Ranch" right of 35w in Burleson for about 6 months in my 5th wheel back in 06.

Yep. They were building new sights and cabins while I was there. It was one of the best RV parks I've ever stayed in. I made alot of friends at the Ranch. A bunch of pipeline welders was staying there with me at the time. In the afternoon after work we all sit at the pool, drank beer, and cooked steaks on the grill. It was some good times.
