Talking Hello from the Republic of California!!

Hey all!! Just a shout out from El Dorado Hills, Ca to be exact. Newbie here to the forum and to the sport as well. My wife and I recently picked up a 2010 Unlimited Rubicon and I'm looking foward to getting on some trails with the family. Can't afford any of the cool mods that everyone else has so whatever cash I can muster I'm gonna put it into one or some of those Jeep Jamboree's that's out there. I'm already planning on one with my 8 year old son in Big Bear in May 2010. Thanks for the great site and the numerous information at hand.
Man I'm so new to this stuff including posting...I hope I'm posting this properly and in the correct place.

Welcome to JKO. You did just fine with the whole posting thing. A stock Rubicon is plenty capable. Go out and play with it, you'll be amazed at what you can do.

08 Unlimited Steel Blue
All Sorts of Crap on it

In the space of about 30 seconds, this man was in a car accident, an explosion, lit aflame and then kicked in the balls with more force than a human foot can technically take.

Future terrorists take note: this is your retirement package.

Welcome. Just take it one step at a time. And try to get out on some runs with those that have some experience. Everyone I know here will keep you out of trouble.

Welcome to JKO main. If you haven't already go check in at the NorCal thread. I am in the East Bay but we have several members up in your neck of the woods. In fact we have had a snow run in the past and we have done the Rubicon and parts of Fordyce. But we also do easy stuff too. Check in and say hi! And we might not be new to the sport we remember what it was like. Hell I am still learning and been wheeling for nearly 2 years now.

Congratulations and welcome! The Jamborees are a great way to get your feet wet, but don't wait until then. Hook up with your local clubs (start with the "scenic" groups)--they can be a great resource, as well as this site, of course.
