tj needed

i have a friend who is looking to get a jeep for his son. he wants an early 2000's tj with... (here's the kicker)

hardtop (not as common as you would think)
a/c
auto trans
close to stock as possible.
under 5000
not abused.

i looked at edmunds, cars.com, yahooautos and craigslist and only found 1 hardtop (but it was a manual).

any help will be appreciated. thanks.

lift, 35's, and other stuff.

Good luck. I looked for about 6 months for something similar and had zero luck. All I wanted was a 2000+ with auto trans. Anything still in stock and good shape is gonna be way outta his price range. I ended up grabbing a 2000 manual with no AC and the heat was broken with about 140K on it for $4200. It had a 3" BDS lift, but wasnt abused. good luck and happy hunting

for what he wants, i'm gonna say it's unpossible. the average price for something like that around here (the few that i could find) was around 12-15k (in atlanta). i told him if he wants something at that price he could get a late 90's tj with high miles.

Tj's under $5K are hard to find unless your looking for no A/c and a 4 banger

mine was a 6 cylinder, but I also felt like I got a good deal on it. To find exactly what you listed for him, my first thoughts were $10K +

i talked to him and he said try to find a mid to late 90's model jeep. i dunno if that means he's ok with a yj or not, but he's coming closer to his price goal.
