Phoenix Area trails

I'll be in the Phoenix area in October and looking for some recommendations for easy/ moderate trails nearby.

Half day trips probably best, but are there any "Must Dos"?? If not, its ok, as I'm stopping in Moab enroute

October 8th and 9th we are going to do the rug road east of mammoth. Although it is a two day trip. Really easy but you get to see tons of scenery.

where in town you staying? That will help with trail recomendations...there is also a big jeep jam on the 15th of October going to be doing easy/moderate/intermiedate trails that day....lots of vendors there too and hundreds of rigs....but i would say Table Mesa or Butcher Jones are 2 close infinitely fun areas that always have folks willing to go out.

The Jeep Jam thing looks kinda fun. Thanks for the recommendations opustm.

Then from Mesa...Butcher Jones and the coves would be good to play....some other areas around there i am sure you could get some East side folks to show you

I'd be glad to take you out when you're here. If you're in Mesa we could go out to Florence Junction, or the Coves and Sycamore are very easy to get to as well. Heck, we could even do Sunflower if you have the time.

Sycamore is easy, a bunch of dirt hill climbs and more fun at night. Butcher Jones is a nice area too, around Saugaro Lake. Wheel to one of the "beaches" and BBQ. Both are in the eastern side of the valley.

October is the perfect time for pretty much any trail in the state! Sedona is nice, the Mogollon Rim is beautiful, Table Mesa is fun...the options are endless! If you are coming to the Verde Valley/Sedona area, stop by our shop--any one of us can help you with trail info: http://barlowjeeprentals.com/contact.html
