rug Road Oct 8th and 9th

Ok the date has been decided for the fall rug road trip. Not sure which direction we are going to do yet but we will be camping out in Turkey Creek like the spring run. Probably gonna make an early the 8th departure time. Or we could meet on Friday night and head out.

Just wanted to get this posted so that people can plan accordingly.

Since we have done the West to East part many times. Maybe there would be interest in anEast to West run? I don't know when people get off work and such, but a campout Friday night would be cool...Or we could try for a both directions run..

Remeber the mosquitos will be quite large and hungry in September.. Thats why I picked the mesa to camp on then. Just a thought to throw out there...

Even more a reason to wait till October. The weekend of the 8th is Columbus day weekend. Could definately do the trail both ways that weekend. Most importantly I'll be able to go....

i've only done the run once on that spring one. but i think the trip over the mountains on day1 to camp out in turkey creek seems more 'fun' than a quick trip to the campsite and then the longer trip back home over the mountains.

i'm game either way, my preference would be the easy/quick part of the trip being the final leg before home.

Soon as I saw your post in this thread, I thought great Army boy got his feelings hurt and don't wanna go now. Then I realized that we are all the misfits in here anyways and have zero feelings anyways.

Ok due to popular demand.

October 8th for the rug road. Details like routes and times are TBD (To Be Determined) for non military types.

So let see if I have it right... You pussy types want to do the run one way, get drunk and take the easy way home on the freeway.

Personaly Jim I don't care which direction we go. Either way is fine by us! It's all fun!

Oh ya, a little side thought. It will be a three day weekend then. Our camping spot will most likely be full up by the time we get there!

We have jeeps and guns. I am sure that we can persuade some others to move out of the way.

And if that doesnt work, we'll just unleash James, Alex, and myself with a BIG bottle of Jailor Serry's, they'll be so worried they'll gladly move for us

since this appears to have been directed to me....I'd prefer to go in and out over the trail, but don't really care, whatever works for most, either way I'm looking forward to doing this again

good point about crowds in the canyon tho.....

Maybe camp out on top of the canyon???

I know its still a ways off, but who all is going as of now.

Im going for sure, ill be staying in Tucson the night prior to leaving so I dont have to get up at 330 again. Is everyone gonna be on their own for meals again, or are we gonna do one big one everyone helps with? Can't wait for this trip to get here. Gonna be a blast!

I swear if you don't show up. You will never be allowed in Tucson again.

So far:

Me for sure, trying to get my 416 finished by then.

Good bump. Since it is so far out still thought that it is too early to really start planning things.

Plus still working on my 416 to take with us. Hell yeah.

Thumbs up New Jeep Enthusiast

I believe we'll be going so add two people/1 Wrangler to the list. I work with Jim D. and just bought a '08 Wrangler hard top. New to the whole Jeep "speak", Jim was trying to speak Jeep Geek to me today, I wasn't sure of all the terminology but I will catch on quickly. Looking forward to meeting those of you who signed up for this trip. I go by handle of "Rammac" when I am playing civilian (away from work). Anyhow, see you all soon, RLTW -Rammac
