Hello all my Arizona Jeeper’s. I am tossing around the idea of putting on a fundraising event for the benefit of my cousin. He suffers from Cystic Fibrosis and is currently hospitalized with complications from it as well as a blood infection called MSSA (similar to MRSA). He is 24 years old and is close to the terminal age of this disease. He is the father of a young son (who is CF free, thank god) and after having to treat this MSSA (which could be dangerous in itself) will need a kidney and lung transplant to prolong his life. That surgery is expensive and extensive. I know how great the 4x4/Jeep community is when it comes to giving back and am hoping to put on some type fund raising event here in the Phoenix area (hopefully Tucson guys can come up) like a Jeep car show. This is day 1 in starting to get the ball rolling so details aren’t set yet but I want a tentative “I can probably make it”. I am hoping to line up some vendors, maybe some food trucks or a local restaurant. We were going to hold at the American Legion here in Phoenix, but if I can pull this event off, it will be too small of a location.
I know a lot of Arizona Jeepers have badass Jeeps and having them all in one place will make a spectacle and hopefully more awareness of this horrible disease after hearing agenda. I will probably print flyers up and try to get some spectators. I haven’t ever done anything like this so I am going to hit the street and talk to some businesses. This would be for benefit of my cousin, so not like the CF foundation or anything, yet.
I am not on these forums a lot or in the AZ section but need some help now.
Appreciate it in advance
